Legal / Privacy
What we hold, where it came from, and how to stop it.
Written for the people we contact, not for lawyers. If we emailed you and you would rather we hadn't, the answer is in the first paragraph.
The short version
If we emailed you, we most likely found your name, job title and work email address in publicly available sources, because your role suggested our research might be useful to you. You can tell us to stop at any time: reply to any email from us, or write to privacy@gpradvisors.com. We will stop, and we will keep a note of your address so we don't contact you again by mistake.
Who we are
GPR Advisors is a trading name of Global Primary Research Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17306321, with its registered office at Craft Cottage, Axminster, Smallridge, Devon, EX13 7LY, United Kingdom.
We are the data controller for the information described on this page. You can reach us at privacy@gpradvisors.com.
What we collect
Business contact details
Name, work email address, and business phone number where it is published.
Professional details
Job title, employer, country of work, and a link to your professional profile page.
Our own notes
Whether your work looks relevant to our services, and a record of emails we have sent you and any reply you send back.
We do not collect special category data such as health, religion or political views, and we never ask for personal financial information.
Where we got it
Almost always from sources anyone can look at: company websites, team pages and staff directories; press releases, conference programmes and speaker listings; published articles, papers and regulatory filings; and professional networking or industry directory profiles.
We also hold what you give us directly, such as when you reply to an email, complete a form, or talk to us about a project.
Why we use it
To contact you
Writing to you about research and expert-network services that look relevant to your role. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, meaning promoting our services to other businesses. We keep this to work contact details, in a work context, with a clear way to opt out.
To reply and deliver
Answering your enquiry and running a project. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract, or legitimate interests in responding to you.
To respect your choice
Keeping a record of people who asked not to be contacted. Our lawful basis is legal obligation, because we have to keep this in order to honour the request.
Where local law requires consent before we send marketing email, we ask for it first, or we don't email you.
Who sees it
A small number of service providers help us run our email and website. They act only on our instructions and cannot use your details for anything else.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not pass it to other companies for their own marketing.
Our systems are hosted in the United Kingdom, the European Union and the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.
How long we keep it
If you don't reply
We review contact records at least every two years and delete the ones with no activity.
If you ask us to stop
We delete the rest of your record but keep your email address on a do-not-contact list indefinitely. That is the only way we can guarantee not to write to you again.
If we work together
We keep records for as long as the work requires, and afterwards for as long as tax and company law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold and give you a copy; correct anything wrong; delete it; stop or restrict how we use it; or send it to you in a portable format where that right applies. You can also object to marketing. We always honour that, with no questions asked.
Write to privacy@gpradvisors.com and we will reply within one month. There is no charge. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.
If something is wrong
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator.
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date below. Last updated 26 September 2026.
